Will alarms sound in 'Silent Mode' and 'Do Not Disturb' mode?

To ensure that alarms sound in these two modes, both of these conditions should be met:

  • Quotes Alarm is not force quit and allowed to run in the background

  • Your device is connected to internet

If these conditions are not met, alarms will not sound in 'Silent Mode' and 'Do Not Disturb' mode.

Why does the alarm ring with default ringtone instead of what I set?

Alarm will ring with the default ringtone when both of these conditions are not met:

  • Quotes Alarm is not force quit and allowed to run in the background

  • Your device is connected to internet

Is it mandatory to keep Quotes Alarm running in the background?

No, if silent switch and Do Not Disturb is turned off, you can exit the app. Alarms will function perfectly. If you exit the app, alarms will sound with default ringtone at your ringer volume though.

Will my alarms survive device reboots?

Yes, your alarms will survive reboots. However, if your device is switched off, these alarms will not boot your device automatically when they go off.

Do these alarms support timezone changes?

Yes, the alarms automatically adjust in accordance with the change in timezone.

How to snooze?

First, make sure that snooze is turned on in the settings. Assuming snooze is on, you need to double tap on the time to snooze when alarm fires. If the device is locked, you need to first swipe on the alarm notification and then double tap on the time to snooze.

How many alarms can I set?

You can set as many alarms as you want. No limits!

I purchased a subscription and it is active but I still see ads whenever I open the app since last update.

There was a bug in v3.181 and is fixed in v3.182. This shouldn't have happened. We are really sorry for this. Please update your app to latest version and "Restore Purchase" to fix this. If you have trouble doing this, please contact us at support@quotesalarm.com and we'll help you out.

I receive annoying popups forcing me to turn on notifications. These are driving me crazy I just want to get rid of them.

If you don't use the alarm feature, we never show notification popups. But if you do set alarm, alarms cannot work without the notifications turned on as they rely on Apple's Local Notifications. Apart from the apple's stock alarm app, no other alarm app can work without local notification permission. If you set alarms in the app, it is our responsibility to make sure that they go off and they must - alarms are important. This is the only reason we show those prompts. If you want to get rid of them, simply turn off or delete the alarms you have set and you'll never be shown those prompts again.

I tried to share a quote on twitter. Quotes Alarm displays “Twitter Not Configured!”. What to do?

If you are on iOS 9 or above, please update Quotes Alarm to latest version to fix this issue.

If you are on iOS 8, install twitter app on your device and login to your account. If the issue is not resolved, you need to go to your device's Settings > Twitter and sign in to your account. This should fix this.

Are Quote of The Day quotes different from Random Quotes and Premium Categories?

Yes, Quote of The Day quotes, Random Quotes and Premium Categories are all different. Every day's quote is fresh and unique! They are never repeated and you'll not find them while browsing Random Quotes or Premium Categories!

I missed yesterday's Quote of The Day. How can I see the missed quotes?

Oops! You cannot see the missed Quote of The Day quotes. If you don't want to miss these quotes, make sure you allow Push Notifications. If allowed, you'll be notified about Quote of the Day if no alarm is scheduled for that day. You can set Quote of the Day notification time from Settings screen and jumpstart your days with the fresh new quotes every day!

How often do you update Quotes?

We add fresh new Quotes to our database weekly. Every week, usually on Sunday, either a new Category is introduced or new quotes are added to an existing category. If you allow Push Notifications, you are notified about this too.

Can these picture quotes be used commercially?

Feel free to use these images personally or share with your friends on social networking sites and apps. You are not allowed to modify these images. These images cannot be used commercially without permission. If you plan to use these images on your website or blog, an attribution to www.bakemyapps.com and/or www.quotesalarm.com is required.
